Traces of Texas reader Pamela Furstenfeld generously shared these two photos of her mom standing at the corner of Holly and Bingham in Houston. The first photo was taken in 1931 and the second 83 YEARS LATER, in 2014. Her mom, Rosalie Tritico Caronna, is the baby being held in the first photo. If you look behind them, looking east down the street, you can see where the road just drops off. That is where Interstate 45 now runs through Houston. Pamela and her mom went out there a few months ago to take the new photo. Pamela says that a few of the houses are still there, but many are being torn down to make way for two story modern houses. AMAZING, Pamela! Thank you so much for sending these two photos in. Hard to believe 83 years passed in between the two shots!
