Travels in Korea Continued... Tuesday part the Second. After morning training, we again got our our charter buses and drove through twisty-windy roads. Rice paddies abundant everywhere, terraced farming as well. Cemeteries are up on mountainsides, as flat land is needed for farming. Our goal for the day was Andong, and the folk village of Hahoe. Some 500+ years old, this village was established in the 16thC during the Joseon Dynasty. Approximately 230 people still live in the village. The buildings are traditional, with thatch roofs, though it seemed a bit out of place - to me at least - to see a Mercedes parked outside one! Here we were able to stroll along the tree lined paths, swing standing up in a Korean swing (long ropes and a plank) and went to a Tea Ceremony. One more time sitting barefoot on the floor! The photos may not be of anything interesting other than to project the peaceful calm and majesty of the area. I found it to be a time of rest and a moment to commune with Nature. Still our time here was too short. We left Hahoe (pronounced Hah-way, FYI) and went on to our most stunning hotel yet - a resort in the mountains. It was here that my cover pic (Above) was shot from the back lobby balcony. One more evening training session, where Master Steve taught Ki Hap Hyung 1 and 2, as well as a kick-form. Then off to dinner, Korean style. (At this point I was beginning to actually like it...)
