Everything is permissible--but not everything is constructive~NIV~ A permit grants one the right to either do what one wants or make a choice. A thing being beneficial considers the fruitful or positive repercussion of what one does. King David had troops to go for war for him. He had the permit to decide who goes to war and who stays back at home. In the end, when the king stayed back home when he was supposed to be in battle, was his action beneficial? God does not take our free will from us, but whatever His restrictions or standards may be, they are always to our benefit in the end considering He sees the end from the beginning. Choices and things may seem permissible for us, but may not always be beneficial. Israel rejected God as King and asked for a king because their neighbouring nations had kings. God allowed them to have Saul, but Saul was rejected in the end thereof. Prayer: Lord, choices and things may seem permissible for me but help and lead me by Your Spirit into what is beneficial.
