UFC lite wont work either…. Viacom will never be able to make money from it. either you spend too much to get the numbers you need or you fail to get the numbers you need. theres a reason why for the roughly 7 years UFC was on spike they only had around 6 to 8 fight nights a year… it’s because spike cant monetize live sporting events. Spike made their money on the UFC replays, reality shows, clips shows like unleashed and other derivative programming. Bellator has no derivative programming and no replay value. Bellator was finished when the reality show failed and when the ppv bombed because spike has no other ways of making money with it. They are going to try and do a friday night combat series with boxing, kickboxing and mma in the hopes of being able to monetize live sports but it’s a long shot. If they could monetize live sports they would have kept the UFC. ZUffa is gonna bid the prices on their fighters up and they just wont be able to tread water. They’ve already lost some of their major sponsors (victory motorcycles, everlast, monster energy, etc…) less than a year of running a national promotion cokers partners were looking to sell said promotion..
