UPDATED WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE VIRGIN ISLANDS VALID UP TO 8 PM TOMORROW SATURDAY 8TH NOVEMBER 2014 Instability in the atmosphere which is associated with a mid to upper level low pressure system will continue to affect The Virgin Islands for the next 24hrs and it will create an environment that favors the continued formation cloudy skies, periods of low visibility and increased precipitation. Due to the potential for heavy downpours, the Flash Flood Watch issued earlier today is extended until 6am tomorrow Saturday. Residents are advised that this watch could be upgraded to a warning at short notice and should therefore monitor the local media and the DDM website/Facebook page for updates. The weather for tonight is forecast to have cloudy to overcast skies with a mixture of scattered showers and areas of lighter rain some of which could be moderate to locally heavy and thundery at times Tomorrow skies are expected to be cloudy to sometimes overcast with scattered morning showers mixed with areas of lighter rain. A gradual improvement is expected late tomorrow afternoon. Winds are expected to come from the ESE at an average between 8-14kts increasing to 16kts over coastal waters. Seas will be moderate to locally rough with heights 1.5 -2.1m or 5-7ft. A small craft advisory is in effect. Barometric Pressure is a little above normal and sunrise is expected at 6:20 am tomorrow and sunset at 5:44 pm.
