UPND Wonders Why Sata is Cutting Short ‘Working Holiday’ The opposition United Party for National Development have wondered why President Michael Sata has cut short his London ‘working’ holiday from the announced 14 to 10 days. UPND Advisor to the President Douglas Siakalima questioned why the Presidency had been secretive about the destination of the Head of State in the first place and later forced into a barrage of statements including a telephone call to ZNBC by President Sata to confirm his whereabouts. Siakalima said there was nothing wrong for President Sata to tell the nation if he was ill as no human being was immune from falling sick. The touchy issue of President Sata’s alleged terminal illness elicits sharp reactions from State House with those raising the issue finding themselves in the line of fire. Before leaving for the African Union Heads of State summit President Sata through his press aide George Chellah had said he will take a 14 day holiday while conspicuously omitting the destination until relentless speculation forced State House to say the President was in London. “They should have said a long time ago that he is in London because even in London he can receive medical treatment unless they are saying he has specialized Doctors,” Siakalima said. “Even if he was sick why not just say after all who does not fall sick? Why should you hide? And now we hear he is coming back when we were told he was going to be away for 14 days. Something is not adding up.” zambiareports/2014/02/05/upnd-wonders-sata-cutting-short-working-holiday/
