UTM Paris Campus to Offer Photography Class Martin, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin Office of Extended Campus and Online Studies will offer a basic digital photography course from 6-9 p.m., Tuesdays, Feb. 11- March 4, at the UT Martin Paris Center. Roger Hughes, retired special agent in charge of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will instruct the course. Hughes is a 30-year veteran criminal investigator, and after years of photographing major crime scenes, evidence and surveillance targets, he began studying fine art imaging at the University of Tennessee at Rocky Mountain School of Photography. He has limited examples of his work at nwtpc.org. The course will allow students to make the most of their digital camera operations and use its advantages to improve photographic skills. Whether students are taking family snapshots or using professional techniques for maximum image creativity, this class will start them on their way to being confident photographers. The course includes topics such as: camera features and functions, exposure, composure, depth of field, focus, photography ideas and exercises in lighting, portrait, landscape, action and close-up shots. The registration fee to attend is $125 per person. Participants are required to bring a camera, the operations manual and a tripod. Printed and e-mail handouts will be available. Email and class evaluations of student images will be utilized.
