Undoubtedly, my (Melissa’s) favorite type of magic in LORE - TopicsExpress

Undoubtedly, my (Melissa’s) favorite type of magic in LORE Fantasy is Bardic Music. The world has a Song, and Bards not only hear it and gain knowledge, but can accompany it by harmonizing, playing a countermelody, or modulating it to affect challenges occurring around them. It’s a fun reimagining of the “buffer Bard” concept. LORE Fantasy focuses heavily on everything in the world being interconnected, and this build is a manifestation of that. When I played a Bard in one of our early playtests, it added a lot of flavor to the game to step into Faerie and hear their strange-to-me version of the Song, or to work obsessively and endlessly to try to find the Song of Nowhere (the place where things are that aren’t). GMs have flexibility in how they portray those things, of course, and if the Bard is an important info-gatherer in a party, that flavor can set a really interesting tone for the campaign.
