Upcoming Events With Nithya Shanti: 1) Authentic Speech and Deep Listening - A Joyshop We will have a one day workshop, or Joyshop this Sunday 27th Oct.13 from 9:15pm to 6pm on the subject of Authentic Speech and Deep Listening. This will be an interactive and experiential session where we will learn and apply powerful principles and perspectives on how we can connect more deeply and authentically with our self and others. The atmosphere will be informal, light-hearted, with a fun learning approach. Our learning will be based on the principles of Attention, Intention and Foundation which practically translate into the skills of Listening, Love and Silence. Nithya will be blending some of the best wisdom from psychology, management and the spiritual traditions to create an approach which goes a lot deeper than usual courses on communication often address. We will explore this subject with a beginners mind and tap into the collective wisdom of the group. It will be a small and intimate retreat with under fifteen participants. The place for this retreat is a marvelous stone lodge, with a large stone fireplace and spectacular views. The property is 50 acres on the edge of the National Forest. As space is limited at the lodge, we are accepting people on a first come, first serve basis. This will be an opportunity to deeply connect with ourselves in introspective silence with the support of powerful pointers to our true nature in the company of warm hearted friends in a beautiful natural setting. There will be sharing and discussion, and a lot of the time will be spent simply being with ourselves, abiding in the sense of I Am, in nature and also with others. If the weather is conducive we can take walks outside and enjoy the sunset together. The aim of this retreat is not really to learn new things, it is to meet all things with clarity and presence, anew. We will enjoy the silence and speak to improve on the silence. In this retreat we will be reflecting on the teachings of Nisargadatta Maharaj, Ramana Maharishi and other teachers like Byron Katie and Mooji. We will inquire into these teachings together and evoke our collective wisdom that is fresh, piercing and liberating. So in a sense, all of us will be the teachers as well as the learners in this retreat. Details on how to register for this retreat are below...
