Update on Baretta - Spent the better part of the afternoon with Baretta and Im so glad I did. She was so happy to see me - all wiggly and happy and LOTS of puppy kisses again. I think our actions matched! I was wiggly and happy too and GAVE lots of kisses! She still had her IV in and her paw was wrapped to prevent her from biting at it - but she somehow managed anyway and I had to point out to the vet that it was leaking a little. So when I was on my way out, the vet was on her way in to change it. Overall she has once again improved. I was able to feed her some chicken when I got there - stayed 3 hours with her and she never once got sick. Gave her more just before I left. Hoping she kept that down as well. At some point during the day I was able to take her out to the doggie yard...IV and all. What a challenge that was walking a wiggly puppy and holding an IV bag suspended in the air in one hand and a leash in the other! At times when I was trying to prevent them from tangling (puppy and leash, or puppy and IV, or IV and leash - or sometimes all three!!!) I think I elevated the leash and put the bag down... oops... this is much harder than it looks!! I took lots of selfies of the two if us while we lounged in the chair that the vets office so kindly let us use and one of the vet techs took a nice picture too that shows you exactly how I spent my afternoon. It was a great afternoon - but it will be an even better one when we can do the same at home! Probably wont be tomorrow, so Im hoping Saturday might be the day. Regardless, I now feel it is just a matter of WHEN and not IF and I feel it in my heart that we are one step closer. Lets hope that roller coaster is finally coasting home!
