Upscale Cruise Line Azamara Club Cruises to Visit Australia for the First Time Boutique cruise line finally visits its third largest market, making maiden calls in late 2015 Sydney, October 1, 2013: Azamara Club Cruises is coming to Australia for the very first time in the cruise line’s four-year history. Azamara Quest – one of the boutique cruise line’s two jewel-box ships – will visit Australia as part of a 14-night holiday and New Year’s voyage from 22nd December 2015 until 5th January 2016. Azamara Quest will sail from Bali to Australia, making maiden port calls at Thursday Island and Darwin, as well as at Great Barrier Reef-destinations Cooktown, Port Douglas; and ending in Cairns. The exciting news for Australians comes as Azamara Club Cruises unveils its full 2015 program. “Azamara Club Cruises is a hidden secret amongst savvy Australian cruisers. But even though its ships have never sailed in the region, Australians are now the third biggest nationality of guests onboard,” said Gavin Smith Regional Vice President, Asia-Pacific of RCL Cruises Limited. “It has long been our dream to bring an Azamara ship to Australian waters and our whole team is very excited to welcome Azamara Quest in 2015.” The deployment of Azamara brand to the region completes a hat-trick for the Royal Caribbean family of brands, with Azamara joining sister cruise lines Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises as the third and final brand in its portfolio to have a ship deployed in the region. Further itineraries in early 2016 will be released at a later date. Known for its destination focus, Azamara Club itineraries feature longer stays and more overnights in port so guests can have a fuller experience of each destination, including its nightlife. The brand’s smaller ships are particularly well-suited to calling in the smaller, off-the-beaten-track ports of the Australian coastline. Earlier this year, the cruise line introduced AzAmazing Evenings, a complimentary night tour on each voyage that provides guests with an exclusive and bespoke slice of a destination’s authentic culture and character. Azamara Club Cruises also expanded its complimentary beverage offerings – which now include wines, spirits, bottled water and barista coffees – and recently refurbished its ships, refreshing all public spaces and staterooms and adding a caviar & champagne bar as well as a new Chef’s Table venue. “Azamara Club Cruises is delighted to announce our new year of destination-immersive voyages that are perfectly suited for sophisticated travellers,” said Larry Pimentel, president and CEO of Azamara Club Cruises. “As a hallmark of the Azamara experience, many voyages are timed with major events and celebrations, so guests can join in the festivities. We are particularly delighted to bring Azamara Quest to Australia in late 2015 and expand our distinctive experience to a new continent.” Now open for sale, the 2015 program is an expansive, curated collection of culture-rich metropolises, charming colonial towns, stunning beaches and unsurpassed natural preserves in some of the world’s most intriguing destinations including South America, the West Indies, Europe, the Far East and – for the very first time – Australia. The full program is comprised of 52 voyages, ranging from five- to 18-night itineraries. Catering to up-market travellers, Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest will visit a total of 203 ports in 62 countries, destinations that have been made famous by myths and legends, history and beauty. Azamara Quest is a mid-sized 694-guest ship including 347 suites and staterooms and a deck plan well suited to the needs of modern voyagers. Guests never feel crowded in the comfortable social spaces of the ships bars, restaurants, lounges, Casino and Cabaret. Staterooms feature modern amenities, furnishings and European linens and there are a large number of staterooms with verandas. Azamara’s friendly ships are a wonderful place to call your home away from home.
