Urgently Required Field Maintenance Engineer – Power Systems for Qatar Fertilizer Company (QAFCO) No of Positions : Field Maintenance Engineer – Power Systems Qafco, the world’s single site largest producer of Urea and Ammonia, looking for suitable candidate to fill a vacancy that has arisen in the Electrical Maintenance organization. The site has an extensive power systems network incorporating bulk power importation at 132kv; internal power generation up to 200mw; and an extensive distribution network at 66kv, 11kv, 3.3kv, 690v and 415v. Major electrical equipment includes power transformers up to 125 MVA, 132kv; power generators up to 80MVA, 11kv; switch gear up to 132kv, power cables up to 132kv. Candidates will be required to demonstrate strong grounding in, and sound appreciation of relevant electrical engineering theory and principles; a flair for technical analysis and problem solving; and solid practical work experience in the maintenance of power systems equipment, including protection and control systems. Specific knowledge of GIS equipment, gas turbine based generation systems, and transmission and distribution systems up to 132 Kv will be a distinct advantage. The Field Maintenance Engineer will lead a team comprising Engineers, Supervisors, Senior Technicians and Technicians in the maintenance of power systems equipment. Major areas of performance are: • Provide field group input to the electrical budget and control of costs thereof • Ensuring availability of competent human resources in the field group • Forecasting and planning of major equipment replacements • Overseeing the implementation of maintenance programs in the group • Develop and implement plans for preventive and remedial maintenance • Develop and implement procedures and instructions for the group • Spares specifications and requirement analysis • Ensure compliance with company SHEQ requirements in the group context • Subordinate development, especially junior Qatari engineers • Major fault diagnosis within the field group area. • Provide technical expertise on power station maintenance issues. Candidates should posses Graduate Level/ BSc in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University and minimum of ten (10) years experience, preferably from Fertilizer/ Petrochemical Plants.
