VETERANS DAYS 2014 **** (Please Watch this Video) **** -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have come across allot of tributes over the years to our Veterans, and pay attention since being one myself. Our nation and views have changed over the years, as has our ways to remember, honor and thank those not only who are serving but those who have served before them. Taking time to be thankful for their sacrifices and for the losses to the military families for those who never came home and more often now, for those who did not come home in one piece. It is popular to step forward to shake the hand of a Soldier or a Veteran and say Thank You For Your Service. A kind gesture, but for those that are truly thankful, perhaps this year, could also take the time to do something for them. For Thank Yous dont pay the bills for the thousands of Military Families that are on Welfare just to meet their basic needs. Nor the Thousands of Veterans who are homeless across this great country of ours. Disabled Veterans that wait years to get the Compensation they not only deserve but need to survive. We dont like to think of such things, especially on Holidays, but even in one of the most Beautiful spots in the USA, here in Lake Chelan, I have watched Veterans struggle, suffer, lose hope and some just waiting to die. Imagine that, going from a proud Soldier, to feeling lost and without hope. When local politicians are too busy, under budgeted or understaffed to be able to deal with such a small and unimportant issue - our Veterans. When dont call us, well call you, leads to nothing. Only then can a Veteran understand the military slogan, An Army of One..... So following this Veterans Day, do something for our Soldiers and Veterans. Dont just Thank them, but rather get involved in making changes for them. To help improve the quality of life for those people who are serving and their families, and those who have served and have given so much. After all, everything you can be thankful for is in part due to those who serve in our Military. Thank You to an 11 year old boy in this Video, for awaking the Spirit of, Proud to be an American and Proud to be a Veteran! youtube/watch?v=8k9Si28k0Fk
