Now, Admiral James Lyons has uncovered that the U.S. State Department plan was for Hillary Clinton to visit Benghazi in October 2012 as a “photo op” or “victory lap” to show that the Obama Administration policy and her work as Secretary of State was a success in Libya. Stevens was rushing to establish the Consulate, ignoring serious threats, as an outreach to Libyan civil society, to show that democracy was taken hold and the new government birthed by Obama and Clinton was succeeding.
