WILL RELIANCE RULE THE COUNTRY AGAIN Markets are buzz with talks that prices will be doubled to 8.4$ per mmbtu I see this as an acid test of MODI as Reliance has always had its ways in policy formation this time also it will try to. With its falling output of Gas in KG D-6 basin Reliance is claiming that if the gas prices are increased then only the operations will become viable and the production will increase which in return will save country precious foreign exchange. Secondly they say that when the country can import gas at over 10$ why cant the country pay 8.4$?The arguments may sound utterly reasonable to the proponents of Reliance but what does not meet the eye is that very recently when the output was continuously falling, BRITISH PETROLIUM ( BP) bought a 30% stake for 7 billion $ in this field impliedly valuing the field for more than 23 billion $ and the then govt also permitted RIL to sell the stake without seeking its share of royalty. More so now BP wants to arbitrate all pending disputes in London to which the courts also have consented. The questions which creates doubt are Why would BP an international expert in oil & Gas buy 30% in an unviable field for such huge prices? Why did the then govt permit RIL to enrich itself at the cost of Public? For the information of readers, I had raised this issue in detail in my press conference along with KN Govindacharya but all fell on deaf ears. Actually both the AMBANI bros are big industrialist but their being big emanates out of policy manipulations and sucking the blood of Indian public. What is important here is, will they be able to FOOL MODI also? or will Modi be carried by their arguments which definitely comes at the cost of Indian public.
