Watching LoL tournament replays and studying it. Its definitely faster than Dota2. Actually its pretty entertaining, with the an average engagement ratio of every 3-5 minutes... Not really like Dota 2 with heavy farming emphasis, and LoL income is heavily centered on Hero Kills, then towers, then jungle, then lastly creeps... Unlike Dota 2, where its creeps, kills, towers then jungles... basically the creep gold reward is nearly half that of the average dota 2 creep wave, and hero kills slightly more, and with LoL mechanics, Heroes die pretty easily when you have enough burst. LoL really makes a lot of room for very aggressive play, while if you try the same thing in Dota2, you pretty much F**K up your own team unless you have NaVi/Zenith skillz. I havent really seen much defensive play, so im guessing its either out of meta or really bad.
