We had lost our beloved Shepard/husky mix a few months earlier. I had taken our cat to the vet to get his shots and asked the vet if he ever got any dogs that needed homes. His response was have I got a dog for you. He brought out this beautiful pure bread English Setter with a cast on her leg. She was 13 weeks old. He said the owners brought her into his clinic flea and tick infested, covered in mange and she had a broken leg. They told him to put her down. Luckily he did not. She had no hair but she was a ball of energy. I told him to hold onto her I needed to get my husband in to see her. That night we went to meet Phoebe, it was love at first sight but she was scared of men. We made arrangements to adopt her as soon as her treatments were done.
