Well its official, Steve and I are going to sign for Hunter to join the Army National Guard during his Junior year of high school. If all goes well he will either sign up as an MP (Military Police) or a combat medic. They both have the GI Bill and a kicker (extra money for college). He will go to Basic Training this summer and his AIT (Advanced Individual Training for his job training) the summer after he graduates. Then he will start college. While in college he will get money for college and money for his drill weekends which will pretty much pay for everything. Then he can do ROTC to become an officer. Oh and he will start out as an E2 because he has his Billy Mitchell in CAP and within a month of his drill weekends before he even goes to basic he will be promoted to E3 with the Stripes for Skills program. Exciting stuff! I was beginning to worry how we were going to pay for his college! I will keep everyone updated as we progress through the process.
