Well we are still not caught up yet, but getting there! I think we jumped the gun on the chapters, especially a couple chapter logos that turned out to be very time consuming to make as a die cut decal. This is what they call a learning curve in business, we really should have tried cutting them all before approving them, trial and error, we are learning! Thank you for your patience everyone! Especially those who are waiting for their chapters to be announced and brought online, coming soon, I promise!! Being that these decals are taking us so long to make, we have decided we have to increase the price to $7.00 but not until all the chapters have all come online and have purchased their decals at $5.00 as it just wouldnt be fair being the early chapters got theirs for that price, but when we take everything into consideration plus our time we are actually losing money selling them that cheap and still offering free shipping, not to mention that Canada Post have just put their rates up too. Now that we have had the business up and running for six months we are able to see some of the expenses involved in the business that we hadnt taken into consideration when we originally figured our pricing in the beginning. There are little things, like the fact that we are working in our basement now, so our efficient and less expensive wood stove that is upstairs does not feed heat to the basement so we are now heating our house 90% of the time with an oil furnace along with many other factors Ill explain later. So this being said we have had to put some of our prices up one or two dollars here or there but I am sure you will still find our prices to be some of the cheapest you will find for the quality products that we continue to offer, nothing but the best garments and vinyls! The next issue is our membership prices, when we take into consideration our heating costs, electricity, the equipment, supplies (vinyl, transfer tape, member cards, gold paint pens, office supplies and envelopes etc) and the time spent weeding the die cut pirate decals plus free shipping and Paypal fees we believe we may be losing money. We are thinking of possibly going back to printed decals which is more expensive but less time intensive and try to keep the price at $5.00 (maybe still have to bump to $6.00) but offer a $7.00 membership that will include a die cut decal instead? We are very honest in this business and would never gouge or fluff shipping rates but we feel we kind of have to do something to make this little business venture succeed, at the moment we are working ourselves hard and not seeing many gains. We do have a plan at the moment once our books are caught up to seek funding to purchase a state of the art thermal transfer printer/cutter that would allow us to do everything we need to do at a fraction of the time. I expect to have the store open this evening, I just have a couple more hours of work to do on it... Throw us some feedback about the memberships, do you think the idea about decals and pricing sounds good?? We honestly dont want to touch our prices at all. Especially coming February we are going to have to start charging taxes for the man. :/ This is not easy, like I said I hate to put our prices up at all but we really have to make this worth our while, we love you all like a gang of close friends and half the time I feel bad for charging anything.. Again, thank you for your time, support and mostly these days for your patience as we learn these curves! :) Jeff Hiltz & Cindy Homans Creighton
