Well, well angry are we? That the only international, world wide sport is finally reaching America? So you feel the need to write an article that is completely inaccurate, full of bigotry and racism, in order to vent because soccer is a team sport that doesnt end in injuries and ridiculously high scores!? What soccer game were you watching? Individual achievement does occur in soccer; its called a goal. But its also a team sport. MVPs exist; money is just not spent on giving them big, flashy trophies. Its called a reputation. They value it. And injuries...umm hello! Have you not seen Dempseys face? And high scores....oh Im sorry. Maybe we should make a goal count as 7 points as opposed to one. That would help right? Its foreign....hmm well yes and so is almost every sport. Baseball and football originated in England and Mayans were playing a form of basketball using their hips not hands (GASP!) way before Americans deemed it their sport. And the no hands vent...thats the best! Oh and heres a new fact: according to Anne, anyone who loves soccer is an immigrant who has yet to speak English. If more Americans are watching soccer today, its only because of the demographic switch effected by Teddy Kennedys 1965 immigration law. I promise you: No American whose great-grandfather was born here is watching soccer. One can only hope that, in addition to learning English, these new Americans will drop their soccer fetish with time. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, so theres mine :)
