The artists involved include Tiken Jah Fakoly, Amadou & Mariam, Salif Keita, Oumou Sangaré, Kandia Kora, Mory Kanté, Sia Tolno, Barbara Kanam, and the rappers Didier Awadi, Marcus (“BanlieuzArts de bande”) and Mokobé. The song “Africa Stop Ebola” is being distributed online since the beginning of November and it is available in all major online music distribution platforms. All profits from the sale of the song will be donated to the international humanitarian organisation Medecins Sans Frontiers/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) a global NGO working in the affected areas in West Africa with over 3,000 health workers. A video clip of the song is currently being broadcasted on African television channels, radio stations and local West African websites and social networks. The lyrics of the song were written by the musicians and Carlos Chirinos, a lecturer from SOAS, University of London who specialises in Music, Radio and Social Change in Africa. The Africa Stop Ebola collective is the brainchild of 3D Family, a music agency involved in several creative projects using music and media to promote social change. 3D Family is the producer of the song “Africa Stop Ebola” and supports the advocacy campaign by the Africa Stop Ebola collective.
