West Grand Boulevard Collaborative Community Coalition CALL TO ACTION * * No Welfare For Henry Ford Hospital Systems * * We are requesting all neighbors, stakeholders, and allies of the West Grand Boulevard community to turn out in force to oppose the proposed 8.2 million dollar tax credit to Henry Ford Hospital Systems and development partners for the Cardinal Warehouse Project. The City Council will be at: Date: Tuesday, June 25, 2013 Time: 10:00 a.m. Location: Committee of the Whole Room 13th floor Coleman A. Young Municipal Center 2 Woodward Avenue In December 2012, City Council voted unanimously on a Resolution in support of a Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) between Henry Ford and West Grand Boulevard Collaborative Community Coalition (WGBC3). Yet, despite the participation of WGBC3 in extensive meetings, Henry Ford has refused to negotiate in good faith with the community and no benefits have materialized. The Cardinal Warehouse Project promises to impose a host of negative impacts on the West Grand Boulevard community, including displacement of long time residents and jeopardy to residents’ environmental health and safety. For these reasons, our unified message on Tuesday will be: * No Welfare For Henry Ford! * - - - - Since 2004, WGBC3 has brought together local residents, organizations, and stakeholders to uplift and stabilize the West Grand Boulevard community at the highest level of safety and aesthetic appeal, and to enhance and support good stewardship of natural resources.
