What a blsd Wednesday 30 July 2014, a day that will never return back to us, a day filled with Gods beautiful thots for us His children. This is a day where to some of us there is going to be a manifestation of His Plan while to others the journey continues. Today I want to share on the fruit of the Spirit namely Patience. Galatians 5:22 says But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce this kind of fruit in us love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Paul writing to the church in Galatia told them these things that only the Holy Spirit can do when He controls our lives. To control means to take charge so as christians we need to examine who is controlling our lives? The perfect will of God is that we be controlled by Hz Spirit so that He produces in us the nine attributes mentioned above that make up the fruit of the Spirit. Jesus said to His disciples in John 15 that He is the Vine, God the Gardener while we are the branches and God was responsible for prunning the branches to enable the bearing of more fruit, and He encouraged us to remain in Him and let Hz word remain in us. As I hv said that am to talk abt Patience, its true that this fruit many of us are failing to allow God to prune us in this area. We ar living in times of instant and we want everything to be instantly. Having read so many accounts of great men of God in bible times I realised that the Holy Spirit did Hz work and produced this fruit in them. Talk of pple like Abraham, Moses, david, etc they waited a long period before the manifestation of the plan of God for their lives. I want to give u an example of a family that this fruit is clearly manifested, thus the family of John the Baptist. Their destiny was attached to Mary the mother of Jesus and this meant the family had to wait all the yrs until Mary reached a stage where Gods plan came to maturity. When Zachariah and Elizabeth got married surely they looked forward to a time to hv children bt look at what happened, years passed by and nothing happened and the pains that comes when u dont a child in the house haunted them. Am sure Elizabeth wd cry and ask many questions like what we do ourselves when we are in such a situation. When we read the account of this story in Luke 1:5-80 u wl discover that despite their dilema they still served God coz the news of them going to hv a child was announced when Zachariah was on duty in the house of God. Gods destiny for our lives is no respector of age, place and time. This couple had advanced well in age but God made it possible for them to hv a child and the childs purpose was to prepare the way for the Lord Jesus. So u c the connection here btwn Elizabeth and Mary? I hv discovered pple of God that in some cases when we think God is not answering, its the time to thank God that He has answered. Lets allow Patience to run its course, yes it may be painful, pple may laugh and mock us but what they dont know is God in heaven has prepared a John for u, never give up, continue serving God and when your John appears pple wl say I wonder what this child will turn out to be for the hand of the Lord is surely upon him in a special way May our today be controlled by the Holy Spirit and allow Him to produce in us the fruit of Patience as we wait for the physical manifestation of our John.
