What is fitness to you? We embark our vision of fitness as a selfish journey. To improve ourselves. For performance, for aesthetics, athletics, mood health and well-being. Its our god given right too. But, lately I have been reflecting and observing the benefits of fitness and exercise on others - in particular my family. I saw my Dad on stage, role modelling a bicep track in BODYPUMP - I listened (biting my tongue) to my Mummas excuses for weeks until she was finally brave enough to do that GRIT class she was always capable of. Both of these events were significantly huge moments in their lives in which years before could have been inevitable. This, Is why I am forever grateful for the impact and importance of fitness and exercise. They have gained strength and power thru fitness, increased self-esteem and confidence, a body that role models fitness and a new appreciation for their health and future. For those of us who have embarked on our own fitness journey, we are walking, talking products of what the positive benefits of movement can be to our overall existence. But to view it on the outside now, witness it, influence it, sit back and acknowledge it - Priceless. I am overwhelming proud of my family, Mum, Dad, sister, Aunty. My message; The principle of appreciation is a powerful tool. Continuously congratulate your family, friends and every person around you for defying their own personal challenges and achieving their goals. Fitness is one battle of a journey.. But the fight is worth every second. Remember the goal and acknowledge every milestone with the awesomeness you deserve.
