What is your purpose for getting up today? Purpose (noun) - The reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. (Verb)- Have as one’s intention or objective. Example- God has allowed suffering, even purposed it.” Synonyms Noun- aim, intention, object, intent, goal, and end. Verb- intends, mean, propose, plan, contemplate, and design. When people hear the word “purpose”, they tense up and their minds wonder trying to find a deep answer to please the person that asked the question or scramble for an answer hoping it is correct. The only incorrect answer is a negative purpose or no purpose at all. Once you begin to itemize your purposes you began to feel thankful and should come to the realization that God should be the main purpose because he makes it all possible every day. To have a purpose is to have a reason to do what you do every day. It is a goal set before you that you maintain to accomplish on a daily basis. Whatever you don’t do today, you have tomorrow to finish it or another set time to do so. What I must do is place God as the main purpose of rising and moving through our day because our own purposes tend to frustrate us and make us want to give up because we lack that core purpose that holds it all together which is Christ. Ephesians 1: 9-11; 3: 10-12 (NLT) 1: 9-11 9. God has now revealed to us his mysterious plan regarding Christ, a plan to fulfill his own good pleasure. 10. And this plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ- everything in heaven and on earth. 11. Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan. 3: 10-12 10. God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. 11. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord. 12. Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence. Once we began to develop our relationship with him our purposes change because we no longer focus on the world. We surrender our lives and minds to him so that there is a transformation inwardly and outwardly. Our purposes grow, but not just the natural, but spiritual; because we now have our center purpose in place and we must identify with it in order for our faith, confidence, knowledge, love, strength, etc. Transforms as well and take us to the destination he has set before us. Once we center ourselves in him he will direct our paths clearly and everything will fall into place. Our decisions become grounded and unchangeable because we are rooting and anchoring ourselves in his word. Our plans may change, but our focus and purposes remain because we keep in mind that God does not waver in his answers so we must do the same as part of being Christ-like. 2 Corinthians 1: 17-19 (NLT) 17. You may be asking why I changed my plan. Do you think I make my plans carelessly? Do you think I am like people of the world who say “Yes” when they really mean “No”? 18. As surely as God is faithful, our word to you does not waver between “Yes” and “No”. 19. For Jesus Christ, the son of God does not waver between “Yes” and “No”. He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes”, he always does what he says. So everyday find a purpose to get up and be productive in your natural life as well as spiritual and make God your core purpose. We all have so much to be thankful for, and once we start to see why, oh what a change in our lives. Remain blessed and grow in God.
