What the President has done yesterday was remarkable and historical by all means. I was actually happy. The visit was precise and gave a strong message not just to Egyptians, but to the entire world in an eloquent manner. He wished all Egyptians happy holidays without any differentiation. He did not want to interrupt the prayers and so the visit was short. Oh yes he scored, and yes he is smart. But, honestly, if I was the president, I would have done same. I would actually visit the Jewish temple as well on the Jewish holidays (or am I pushing it?). But, coming to think of it, isnt this supposed to be the norm? Isnt this supposed to be the case? Isnt this supposed to be the equality we are all striving for? I wonder what the previous presidents were thinking? The President has done what should have been the normal on such a beautiful occasion. But because we live in such an abnormal time, and that we have deviated from being normal decades ago, we all felt the quadruple effect of the Presidents visit to the Cathedral. We should all be proud regardless of our political affiliations. Now, we all need to capitalize on that. Merry Xmas Egypt and the world...
