What was summer in your neighborhood like? On Hemlock Street we ran thru sprinklers, played cowboys with our stick horses, had bike races o the street (my brother would buy penny candy at Stasiks, set up an orange crate and sell the candies for two cents a piece) building forts in the woods, set up our own carnival complete with a haunted house in the garage and wheel barrow rides over an obstacle course, playing cars in the dirt, dress up, wagon train with our bikes and wagons, baseball, tree climbing, popcicles made out of Koolaid and it was a big treat when our moms would let us eat our lunches outside!
