And who helps them grow? “The Young Generation! “Heal the World” is a programme to sensitize the students about one of the major environmental issues in India, which is Solid Waste Management. They have organized an event called “Heal the World.” The motto is, why throw the waste when we can use it to create something beautiful. It’s a competition where around 900 participants have applied with their unique designs in garments & accessories etc. Approx 40 schools have participated in this and models displayed are more than 300. These students are basically from across Gujarat and Kolkata who made it to final level! If we talk about the growth, the first year started with participants from Ahmedabad and this year, we told you about the participants from across Gujarat and Kolkatta. Isn’t it just great? The programme was in the form of competition and was designed to engage student fraternity to spread the message to the community at large, by practically involving them into creation of 3D models (working, non-working), designing posters and a design contest from waste. “Heal the World” competition was initiated at three levels: Presentation, Preparation and Judgment. The entries are judged as 1st, 2nd, 3rd based on criteria: Concept, Understanding of the subject, Creativity, and Waste usage at both intra and inter school level. It doesn’t end here!
