While it is human nature to be picky and to expect more of - TopicsExpress

While it is human nature to be picky and to expect more of yourself, it is also important to be realistic with your self image. Personally, I have fatty areas on my body as well. Ive lost those fatty areas and have regained that fat again. I had to be quite extreme with my training and nutrition to get rid of those specific areas and once I went back to a more livable lifestyle, those fatty areas regained the fatty tissues. Im not saying this as an excuse, but to recognize and be reasonable with our bodies and what is practical. Most competitors and models are a good 7-15 pounds heavier or more in their off season vs shows or photo shoots. Many of us are jaded from looking at instagrams, FBs and magazines. Do you post bad pictures of yourself or just the ones that make you look good? I cant even tell you how many times I have seen instagram images of people, then saw that same person a week later and they were definitely not in the shape that the images represented. There are some select people that truly are no different in person than what images reflect, but it is rare, very rare. If you have some chub on your legs or lower abs, that is fine and normal. We need body fat to be healthy. There is no sense killing yourself with workouts and starving yourself to get rid of that last layer of fat that wont seem to budge. Balance my friends, it is all about balance.
