Whilst it is cold and Im not that inspired to get out (got a couple of days piking later this week anyway) Ive been looking back at the past year. My most memorable catch was this 13 lb 6 oz tench which was truly awesome in the flesh! Id wanted a 13 for a while (my only other one was the same fish as my 14-4 PB so not quite the same and wanted to fill in the gap) and it was also my fifth fish on the current Tenchfishers Top 50 list! Overall it was a good year and had some great sessions - often as much due to the company they were spent in than for the actual fish we caught (or in some cases didnt catch anything at all). The overseas fishing was also pretty good for me, with a very enjoyable trip to Venezuela after peacock bass and other stuff on lures; then a new PB cat of 180 lb from the lower Ebro in Spain; and more recently my best ever trip after piraiba catfish where i had eight over 100 lb in Suriname from 3 different rivers (including from two rivers Id never been on before), plus some big electric eels as well as a bonus.
