Why do I need feminism? Because I dont want my baby sister growing up and being told that her merit can and will be judged by the way she looks, how much she weighs, what she wears, and whether or not she can get a boy. I dont want her to think that whether or not she is skinny is more important than her crooked smile, her love for singing, or her talent for writing. I dont want her to value the opinion of a man above her own, simply to feel loved. I dont want her to change herself for anyone. And I especially dont ever want to hear her say Im fat or Im ugly EVER again, because she is beautiful and sweet, and my eight year old sister should not EVER feel any less than what she is.
