Wolls match Report: Cornish Pirates 5-20 London Welsh The Pirates have now had the chance to assess two of the likely contenders for promotion in the space of 8 days and will possibly feel disappointed to have only a single bonus point to show for it. That particular reward came in last Sunday’s highly entertaining clash with Bristol–whereas today - in the first half in particular– here was perhaps an element of ‘hangover’ from those exploits. The improved second half showing however against the Welsh wasn’t enough to prevent a 2nd home defeat in the Championship this season. Pirates’ Director of Rugby, Ian Davies, summed it up perfectly as he conceded his young charges will rue the silly errors count of the first period; a factor the more clinical visitors pounced upon.
