Working from home with kids... I dont know if this is so much as a plea for advice, as it is a minor grumble. How do you mums manage to run a professional business from home when you have little kids? I have just about got the phone thing sorted, my miss 7 now knows it is more than her life is worth to interrupt mummy when shes on the phone to a client. But how do you get around managing to get anything done when they are home? Mine is sick today and woke up with it, so I have had to contact a bunch of clients to let them know very last minute that I cant come today. It is super frustrating as a couple of weeks ago I was sick (ended up at the hospital briefly so it was pretty serious) and then 2 weeks before that I was sick again with something contagious and nasty... so that means some of these clients (like my fortnightly ones) have had to deal with cancellations 3 times in a row!! Most are pretty understanding, but obviously with it being a regular thing the last little while some will surely be getting cheesed off. One today whom I havent been to before and today was their first booking with me told me They were very unhappy with this. and I have probably lost them as a client already. I mean what can I do?? Shes sick, I cant take her with me as that would be very unprofessional (especially as shes one of those kids that just cannot leave me be for a full hour to do my work she has to constantly interrupt) apart from the fact shes sick and really needs to be in bed resting. How is anyone supposed to run a business with kids??
