Wow, I got a bit lost in it all this morning. I sat down to start writing at 10:30 and just looked up a moment ago to see that it is now 1pm. 2700 words though, so thats a good result. Chapter two still has more a lot more life in it, and the chapter outlines I prepared the last two days have served me very well indeed. Its so much easier when you can just refer to a neat point-form guide and check them off as you go! It wouldnt pay to underestimate the work involved in getting that point-form guide to go from nothing to useful in the first place though. :-) Its a great feeling. So many years of false starts and unfulfilled hopes and dreams, and now I seem to be making real progress and to be developing an approach to writing that is really working for me for once. As vague and unhelpful as it may seem as first, there really is a lot of truth to the advice commonly given to would-be authors: You just have to sit down and start writing and find a way to do it that works for you.
