YES! A new therapy group for teenagers (ages 13-17) begins this coming Monday, August 12th and will run for 6 consequitive sessions on Mondays from 4-6pm at Serenity Outpatient in Soldotna. If you have an adolescent who is interested, there is still time to get him or her in. Please call our main office at 714-4521 and get your child signed up. Group Description: A.C.T. for Teens - A.C.T. for Teens provides you with essential skills for coping with the difficult and sometimes overwhelming emotions that stress you out and cause you pain. The emotions aren’t going anywhere, but you can find out how to deal with them. This group will give you tools to become a strong person who handles tough emotions with grace and dignity—and gain many more friends and accomplishments along the way. • Recognize your strengths • Let go of anxiety and self-doubt • Stop finding faults in yourself and start solving your problems • Be kinder to yourself so you feel confident and have a greater sense of self-worth • Use the power of mindfulness in everyday situations • Make lasting friendships • Identify the values that will help you create the life of your dreams
