You constantly hear the phrase You must have a revelation! when speaking with the followers of William Branham. The problem with this is that the revelation they are referring to is not Biblical revelation, but rather message revelation. They believe that William Branham had the exclusive understanding of Scripture and was the only person on earth who could properly decipher what the hidden meanings were throughout the Bible. This is not Scriptural, as the Bible tells us: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (2 Peter 1:20) The Bible is also plain concerning the revelation given by God: Surely you have heard about the administration of Gods grace that was given to me for you, that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. This mystery is that through the Gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus. In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. (Ephesians 3:2,3,6,12) THE BIBLE SAYS that the REVELATION is the administration of Gods Grace and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. The fact that William Branhams revelations changed over time makes no difference to his loyal followers, nor are they willing to compare them to the Word of God. If someone points out a direct contradiction of his teachings to Scriptural truth, they will choose William Branhams words over Scripture. Whose word will you choose? en.believethesign/index.php/Progressive_Revelation
