You know that panic when youre under major deadlines and an email arrives from a different editor requesting a one-week turnaround on revisions for a ms you thought youd finished for her months ago?? So you send her an email, begging for a bit more time, and she responds that she hasnt sent you any edits. Then you look at the email and see its dated months ago, and you cant figure out why it turned up in your email inbox today marked as unread when youd filed it in one of those little email folders to keep things organized. And while youre breathing a sigh of relief, the doorbell rings & its FedEx with ARCs of Love & Profanity. Of course, you forget all about your deadlines and settle in to read it from cover to cover, beginning with Adam Rexs opening story. And when you flip the page after reading your own, you find a story by Joseph Bruchac, an author/storyteller youve always admired... Yeah, its been one of those days...
