https://youtube/watch?v=XeWdttbTjn4 Shameful plug for one of the first videos I created on the topic of Geocaching. This was taken with a point-n-shoot camera during a SLAGA group cache hunt in the Labarque Creek Nature Preserve in 2005 (near Pacific, Missouri). The area is now the Labarque Creek Conservation Area and the three caches (affectionately known as the Labarque Trilogy) are STILL THERE! The groomed trail is about a 3-mile loop that covers a wide range of landscape. There are some steep parts in the trail and will be muddy in spots if it recently rained. I walk the trail 5 or 6 times a year. Sniper1, who is no longer with us, joined us on the hunt, along with Brawny Bear, Happy Kraut, RGS, MamaLu, MsE and konopapw. When you see the words NICE HOUSE - thats where geocacher barramus lives. At the time of the group hunt, the entrance to the preserve was only through a narrow, public sliver of land that you approach from the northwest. That sliver is where the video displays STEEP DECLINE. Now, the MDC has created a large parking area at the northeast section of the property. Typical of SLAGA group hunts at that time, back at the parking lot we would break out the sub sandwiches, chips and soda. Here is a link to the YouTube video. It was shot at 640 pixel resolution, back in the day before YouTubes video rendering engine was vastly improved.
