... if you dont like it, try living in china or iran Actually... if you, yknow... r.e.a.d. the bill, its pretty on par with those places. Fun stuff. If a cop doesnt like you, he can now make shit up, hack your computer and plant evidence (with full immunity from prosecution if hes caught), hmm.. stalk an ex (thats gonna be legal), heaps of wicked stuff. Oh, and youll have no comeback, the court wont be able to dismiss the charges, throw it out, or anything - theyll have to try you based on the word of the cop - even if you can prove that the cop literally pulled evidence out of his arse. As a fun bit of side law, if you DO prove that the cop made it up, thats a mandatory 2-10 year jail term for leaking information. Which, it looks like would also apply to any journalist or lawyer who got too nosy. Please note, pretty much none of the politicians who are about to vote on this, even bothered to deny that they havent read the actual, legally binding terms of this permanent law which is about to go through parliament. Unread. Its our very own patriot act. Yay, Straya! You can go back to watching the footy now, all is well.
