no secret that we here in the JL Fam love us some American Aquarium. These boys are dear, dear friends, and Im so grateful to be in each others musical orbits. its especially meaningful for me, because i love being friends with, collaborating with, hanging with, and checking out the world - artistry, aesthetic, vibe, etc - of great musicians who come at things thru a slightly different exterior than I do. Thats where its at! Experiencing passion, dedication and ethic equal to yours, but just from another awesome angle. Its my favorite part of my musical life. Most people would call them an alt country rock band or whatever, and, well, even though they are easily a lot more than that, they get that label; whereas, more often than not, i guess people lump me under broad categories like Pop or Indie (ugh) or whatever, and thats fine - its just the nature of the beast... Point is, at the end of the day, I do my thing, these boys do theirs: but when it all comes down to it - a great song is a great song. Id be honored even if i thought these guys dug me half as much as I dig them! And this, Wolves - the debut single from the boys new LP by the same name - is simply a great song (as is their whole new record)! Glad to know you, guys! Goodness abounds.
