tired, washed out and ache all over after a long weekend at Brands - TopicsExpress

tired, washed out and ache all over after a long weekend at Brands Hatch. First time out this year, and first time ever racing a 4 stroke. Years of intuitive muscle memory racing a light weight 250 twin two stroke made it difficult adapting to the tall torquey and heavier SV650, and I had a continual over riding urge to bang it down the box as soon as I touched the brakes. However, after a conscious decision not to try and ride it like a stroker, I found my pace picking up as I used the gears less, but on the other hand, Im still dragging bits of bike on the ground as throw it into the corners. The torquey engine did make me take note as I nearly $4IT myself with a lurid back end slide that got the bike on opposite lock powering out of Paddock. For sure I thought I was a gonna, but the little tractor corrected itself, and as soon as I was back in the seat, I was back on the gas without even losing a place. Ill have to learn some new tricks if I am to get anywhere near the the silver wear, but its all good experience, and I believe new challenges makes me a better rider (even if it doesnt have a proper engine)
