08/11/13 NORTH YORKSHIRE FIRE & RESCUE NEWS A CHEMICAL spill has led to patients, visitors and staff being evacuated from a North Yorkshire hospital this morning. Fire crews are currently at Harrogate District Hospital following the spill, which was reported at about 8.40am in the endoscopy ward. A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said some patients were being taken out of the hospital. Inpatients are understood to have remained on wards. Two firefighters wearing gas-tight protective suits have now gone into the site to assess the spill. with a hazardous materials officer also called in. Fire crews are now leaving the scene.
