A Plea to Wattpad Romantic Novelists Now I know why people still loves novel written in books than in Wattpad.......In books, 100% of the time, you will expect that what you are reading have been reviewed for grammar, sentence construction, plot and sub-plot, techniques used, vocabulary, and most importantly, the progression of the story. I am not against the writers in Wattpad. In fact, some of them or few of them, are really good writers and can be professionals. But most of the writers have written more like a flat-line kind of plot; or have focused more on the kilig-factor than the story itself. Remember, it is not how many you have written, it is the quality of what you wrote that matters. Another important factor I noticed was the vocabulary--the repetitive used of the same words from the first page to the last. Please take note that we have what we call DICTION in writing that pertains to the proper choice/use of words in a sentence or in a phrase. For these aspiring romantic novelists, try to read Nicholas Sparks or Judith McNaught novels and decipher how they create such a fine artwork. I have not written a novel--I can admit that. Why? The reason is but simple: BEFORE YOU TRY TO RUN, LEARN HOW TO WALK FIRST. That is why I am contented to write Short Stories and Essays--Novel is a different beast! I have not mastered the vocabulary and the intricate combination of plots and sub-plots despite studying English Language for 4 years. I love novel and literature so much that it hurts me when someone took it for granted for the sake of just writing alone. I always and firmly believe that before you write a novel, one should learn the mechanics and the rules of grammar first--at least the basic for the sake of our English Teacher in High School and Elementary!!!!!!
