Dear Enrile I cant believe that you just wasted 30 minutes of your life with your recent privilege speech in a desperate attempt to thwart the direct allegations of Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago against you being the mastermind of the PDAF scam. But what is 30 minutes of personal and ugly rant compared to the 89 years of your futile existence? First, Im not saying that aside from your poor vision, you might be suffering from myopia since you kept addressing Mr. President (of the Senate) during your gibberish. For the record, you are answerable to every single Filipino people, including the Yolanda victims (who you conveniently used as an excuse for postponing your speech), more than any freaking member of the Senate. Second, Im not saying that you dont have the balls. But why not directly name the senadora youre referring to? Of course we all know that she is the direct recipient of your personal attacks. But correct me if you may, you only mentioned her name once and not even as a senator but as then Judge Miriam Defensor Santiago? Does the mere mention of her name send shivers down at your old spines ala-Voldemort? I would have addressed you Old Man from the Senate but I didnt want you to ask me the same question. Third, Im not saying that dementia is to be blamed for your lack of concise answers against what you call baseless fabrications against you. While its amazing how you manage to live for so long, Im afraid that just like anyone else who eventually withered and died, your time will run out and your proper forum to clear these allegations will be held somewhere else. But if ever the powers-that-be still grant you such chance, spare us from invoking your right against self-incrimination. We would love to hear something original that only a brilliant mind such as yours can devise. Fourth, Im not saying that youre a straight dumb ass. In fact, you esteemed yourself in getting 91% in the bar exam compared to Miriam who only got 76%. But those are numbers. A mans character is not measured by his grade nor his ranking in the bar exams. Numbers are not direct reflection of ones moral principles and ethics. Everyday in the street, crimes are committed by lowly, underprivileged individuals but elsewhere, immoral, illegal acts are perpetrated by those who are smart, rich, and in power. Fifth, Im not saying that you are completely illogical when you denied your involvement in the Zamboanga City crisis by saying you were in Cagayan and that you were only made aware of the conflict when you got back to Manila. Its perplexing that a well-off Philippine politician does not have a direct access of whats happening in the other areas of the country. Whats the use of your staff? Are they just laying eggs in the Senate just as you do? No internet in Cagayan? Ah yes, we get it. You dont teleport. Thats why Napoles was born out of necessity to act on your behalf. Lastly, Im not saying that youre a boring old man. Its just that you dont have a great sense of humour like Defensor. Do you think it can be attributed to the fact that she was treated by a psychiatrist? Perhaps you should consider scheduling an appointment with one. Cant wait for Miriams retaliation next week. It will be bloodbath. But while we wait for it, let me leave you with two of your profound statements below. I owe it to the current generation to answer the barefaced lies said against me and my office, although deep in my heart I believe that history, in a calmer and kinder social climate, will absolve me. Wishful thinking. Some day, perhaps, our people will eventually unmask who was lying and who was telling the truth. Indeed.
