Diana wrote- I am a RBK amputee. I was in a horrible automobile accident, May,16, 2012. Some woman was texting and driving, went left of center and hit me head on. I was life flighted to Akron Summa Hospital. I was crushed from the waist down. Multiple life threatening wounds. Most of all my right leg was the most damaged. I tried for two years to save it, but in the end I chose to go with amputation. I was uneven and too damaged. Im thankful that I had the courage to go thru all that Ive been thru. I just recently got my first new prosthetic. It needs an adjustment, but Im still trying to wear it for 8 hours a day. Its definitely more difficult than I had imagined, but I am still doing it. I had my amputation surgery on April 30, 2014. I havent got to walk normal in all this time. Im also pain medicine free. Just recently went thru withdrawal from morphine. I appreciate reading and learning from this site and fellow amputees. Hope everyone has a great night.
