Do you want to hear a great story? I have a great one for you! It is entitled, To: Hank, Frome: Sydney This story is about my sweet niece, Sydney and my Hayden. While I was in Idaho, dropping my daughter, Kendall Farley off at BYU Idaho, I was able to spend some time with my sister Emilee Skonnard Murdoch and her family. During our visit Manuel and Emilee were asking me questions all about Hayden. As we were talking they asked about the financial aspect of this trial. I mentioned that I am not exactly sure what our obligation will be after the insurance pays their portion and I also mentioned how expensive the medical costs are for cancer treatments. Sydney, who is 10 years old, was listening but didnt say a word. After we were done talking she ran upstairs to her bedroom. After a few minutes she came back down stairs and handed me an envelope that said, To: Hank, Frome: Sydney. I opened the envelope and inside there was a wad of money. I asked her what it was for and she said, This is to help pay Haydens doctor bills. I only have $45.75 but I think it will help. I burst into tears and told her that I couldnt take it. Her expression went from a smile to a bewildered look. I realized that by me rejecting her offer I wasnt allowing her to serve. So I said, Sydney, I will let you decide if I take this, but I feel bad taking ALL of your money. Her smile returned and she said that she wanted Hayden to have it. I cried so hard and every time I think of her gift, I cry again. She gave ALL that she had to help Hayden. I love Sydney and feel so grateful for her love. Sydneys gift and sacrifice for Hayden reminds me that there is someone else who gave a sacrifice and gift of ALL He had, to each one of us. May each of us emulate the Savior as Sydney did. :-)
