FROM THE NEWSROOM: BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut judge has arraigned a man on charges of violating an order to stay away from a woman who died after being found bleeding in a parking lot. The Connecticut Post reports that Thomas Fischer was arraigned Tuesday in Bridgeport Superior Court. He was held in lieu of $100,000 bond. Jennifer Sredzinski, a 911 dispatcher, died Aug. 28 after she was found with a head wound and bleeding outside her Monroe condo. Police call her death suspicious. Fischers lawyer said his bond is excessive and that hes not been charged with causing Sredzinskis death. Fischer was accused of attacking her and arrested May 31 in Spotsylvania, Virginia, on assault and battery and strangulation charges. He was jailed in Virginia for two months. A protective order directed him to stay away from Sredzinski.
