Facebook wants to know what weve been up to. Well, here goes todays list: -Disked ground for broccoli and corn. -Plowed some more broccoli ground. -Broke crust up on bean ground, prepping for Friday planting. -Drove back and forth between shop and said fields multiple times to check progress and conditions. -Ordered fertilizer. -Picked up chemicals. -Picked up electrical parts for irrigation pump timers and newly powder coated plant racks for transplanter. -Got the 3rd and final perennial ryegrass fertilizer applied. -Met with cannery field rep, discussed rain delayed planting schedule. Game plan in place (until it rains again). -Flailed the cherry orchards. -Ordered fencing material for the new cherry orchard (stupid deer). -Cleared some scrub brush to make way for new fence. -Blew up engine in excavator clearing brush for new fence. -Switched equipment, used the old D4 Caterpillar instead. -Spot sprayed undesired grasses out of perennial ryegrass field. -Spot sprayed thistles in the strawberry field as well as future bean and broccoli fields. -Continued putting together the new transplanter. -Tested the flow a couple irrigation pumps (in prep for a new linear) -Got power back to the panels of said irrigation pumps. -Calibrated the spray tips on the 7930 and rototiller. -Got winter weeds prayed in future corn field. -Paid some bills. -Picked up kids, drug them around the farm, forced homework completion (suns out and 80, not easy to keep them inside), made & fed dinner, bathed & all in bed. -Maybe drink a beer? Never mind, piles of laundry instead. Lets see, what else...suppose that will do for now. Theres always tomorrow. And its a good thing weve got great employees to help get this done, expect the kid part...maybe I should look for a nanny?
