Geoff Keighley has done an amazing job with this years #TheGameAwards. I enjoyed Spike TVs VGAs, but something about them were lacking. The Golden Joystick awards were just bland and honestly, well, quite terrible. But The Game Awards, this is where its at. All games, done by gamers, with gamers, for gamers. Trailers instead of generic advertisements, the occasional music performance by bands who are avid gamers, and insight from some of the oldest as well as some of the newest minds in gaming.
