Hello everyone, I hope all is well. I had a training session - TopicsExpress

Hello everyone, I hope all is well. I had a training session with Tucker the other day. He is growing fast and is starting to come into his own. He is definitely starting to test his owners and a few things have come to the surface that even took me by surprise so we have had to adapt. Training is an ever evolving and changing process. While I was there, I had an impromptu training session with a little terrier mix named Finn. He is unsure about a lot of things, especially other dogs and has started to act out aggressively. On top of that, he is used to doing what he wants when he wants. After a little walk together, they both made the decision on their own to lay down next to each other and just wait until I was ready to do something. All I did was build a little trust with Finn in the short period of time I spent with him. In that time, he felt comfortable enough to lay next to another dog he normally would actively seek out and bite. By no means did I fix or change his perception of the world to the point he is now a secure and confident dog. What I did for Finn, is let him know that when I am on the other end of the leash, that I have his best interests in mind and that I can handle the situation around him so he doesnt have to. This was done with no corrections, obedience drills, or even verbal communication. I was simply being a confident, respectful handler who understood what Finn needed and gave it to him. Hope everyone enjoys the pics! Thank you, JOSH-
